The Logic Behind the Decision Was Sound from What I Saw on the News
In doing their jobs, they must follow the constitution/laws and base decisions upon that within the boundaries and leave out personal bias and opinions. These are necessary for checks and balances regardless of extraneous factors.

Great spin! however ...
this decision is about the unitary executive. Bush and Cheney will now have to negotiate with Congress, something the swore they would never do. Dems and ordinary Americans don't want to let terrorists loose, however, noone is willing to take the President's word on anything, or give the President the benefit of the doubt. Once bitten, twice shy!

well - -lets see
they aren't american citizens
but they aren't prisoners of war either according to the pres etc., thus they aren't protected uunder the geneva accords
they are nonentities and our govt and military can do anything they want to them right?
now i thought they were human beings.
well that's all right -- our govt is creating five times more terrorists where those came from .
sheesh why don't we have an eternal war? -- why not? -- we've never had one before -- too much boredom around here.
