Yes, I am going to remove it. I've already taken out some of the earlier parts -- and will start a different one maybe in a week or so... It's hard to create a balance -- enough that the reader has no trouble following the story, but not so much they give up, because we've all got so much else to do... Thanks for the question and for your comments... Very useful! :)

Funny thing, when I first moved to this area - apostrophes
big as border collies -- incorrect -- and up on highway signboards. You'd think sign painters would know better... And they also put the letter N upside down. What's up with that?
