Nobody "wins" in a situation like this.
The whole thing is very sad.  It's so hard to imagine the loss of those five precious kids.  And yes, I agree withi all the other comments -- where was the dad?

I do think that those who knew she was having problems
are just as responsible for the death of the children. The father, the shrink, was it the mother or MIL? They all stood by and let this happen in my mind.  One can say "oh they could not have thought she'd do that" but, why would you take a chance when you knew she was very mentally fragile?

I know very little about PPD
but I still do not believe even if she was insane that she should be allowed to walk free.  Furthermore, the husband that KNEW she was not stable should be held accountable for leaving her alone with those babies.
