Thanks A-and-B.In South Africa (possibly for ALLl British English), soil is
used instead of the word "dirt". It irks me some to see it used for mother Earth. We have used the word "dirt" specifically for things that go into the trash or trashcans that are called "bins". Language and its abuses, LOL!

We use dirt to grow plants too. The bottom of the food chain nourisher.
