- Go to BELIEVERS AND NONBELIEVERS CAN COEXIST NICELY, THANK YOU.
I liked the title and its broad appeal for coexistence, sharing the planet
You make sense. I have not been a part of this earlier controversy. But PASSIONFLOWER is a consistent advocate for reasonableness, security when it matters, and practical politics with love/toleration for all. I would agree with you totally, JUSTI, if only you could see the need to have checks and balances. If you are fair-minded, research the facts of India having had to fiught terrorists since 1948, and Al-Quaida longbefore the US had to. And all the while, India expanded its democratic structures simultaneously. Around the time of 9-11 some terrorists who were Muslims shot their way into the Indian Parliament, where heroic policemen stopped their plan of murdering the entire Indian Parliament. India has not gone to extremes in seeking security. There's somethoing in this comparison. Of course, a super power is in a league of its own, yet... there's something to India's fight against terrorists who usually happen to be Al Quaida, Muslims and Pakistanis.

We actually have no choice but to tend to our own business and allow others to do the same. It becomes intolerant to me when laws leave horrible acts unpunished as we have been talking about with the children. I have no tolerance for that or for people cutting people down because of how they believe, their socieo-economic status, education or looks. . I don't have to believe like you nor you like me.

I just woke up from my Saturday afternoon nap!
So I'm catching up. I've always believed in being tolerant toward the beliefs of others. Whether you agree or not, they have a right to their beliefs. I hate narrow-mindedness and intolerance.
