I can't say I am any clearer on how I feel about the whole thing but if she was being treated for PPD then I am also left with the question, why did dad not bring in a family member or neighbor or someone instead of leaving his kids with a woman he knew was emotionally unstable.

What I got from the news is that she was already being treated for PDD, so they knew something was wrong. So who knows!

nice guy?" LOL
I don't know what happened here... but if a person is capable of "snapping" like that... even if hormonal... how can we know it won't happen again? I would have to think that at some point, she had to know something wasn't right with her mind... she has to at least be held accountable for not seeking the proper treatment.
I don't really know. Would a parent ever be excused from abusing a child because they were depressed?

You do have a good point. Her ex husband is still supporting her in all of this, which makes me wonder exactly what did happen. I don't know if I could be that good of a person to be supportive of the woman who killed my children no matter what the reason.
I have to say, I do hope you are right and she simply went crazy. I'd hate to believe that she had all of these people fooled for so long.

Well, something happened to her....her family always claimed what a loving mother she was until she snapped! I too, do not know enough about PPD so I really don't know if it could cause a mother to kill her children. This was so horrific, you would have to been an evil person or just plain nuts! I don't think she was evil.

I don't know how PPD can be an excuse for murder... especially
of 4 or 5 children? I guess it's possible... but I can't even imagine the horror that those kids endured. It makes me sick.
