actually TAPS
i think my son is reaping the blessings of a sound mind
as far as god is concerned, he and I have discussed the subject -- his god is not your god.
but he has an inkling of something
just that all extant explanations of god fall far short
and i also think they do --
it is a god that is an idol -- fashioned from people's perceptions -- a graven image
graven images decay with time -- this one is also -- more people see
that it is a graven image and that what religion has brought to the
table thus far is insufficient to base a life on.

xeno-x, It is the person who says that he has need of nothing, especially not God, who hasn't a clue that he is the one that is wretched, and miserable, and poor, and blind, and naked. God wants to comfort those that mourn, to give beauty for ashes, the oil of joy for mourning, the garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness. To say, "I have need of nothing" to God is to fool oneself totally and to schedule a time of eating ones words. To encourage another in that mode of thinking is to invite the sorrow of "What have I done?" upon oneself.
