YOU'RE RIGHT ABOUT THAT! IT DEPENDS WHERE YOU ARE.....
on the ladder. The millionaire farmer that cheated me out of $27,000 and cost me my house and car, whined constantly about how much the job was costing and even when he made major changes, it was a battle to get him to pay even part of the incurred charges. He was upset that he had to buy a lower model big screen TV (when I don't even have a TV anymore), he was angry cause he had to cut short his Vegas vacation, (I haven't had a vacation in years), and he had to pay $4,000 for a bed on sale rather than go get one that wasn't on sale (I am sleeping in my son's bed while he's in Iraq, when he comes back I'll have to find a used mattress or something). I really felt bad about asking this farmer to pay me the money he owed me, but it doesn't matter. I didn't get it anyway. So yeah, it depends where you are on the ladder, but I think some of us have a more legitimate gripe than others. I am equally sure there are people in Africa and elsewhere that consider ME rich and in their eyes, they would be right, but I wouldn't dream of taking from them any small part of what they have. Thanks for commenting!

Yes, I agree
It is terrible. I can't believe that they would make a soldier pay like that. First they trick him to join the army and fight their battle for more power, then they treat them like that? Shame on them. I remember that hearing George Bush had to ask his aid how to talk to poor people because he'd never spoken to one in his life. America dumped Tea in the Boston harbour protesting England's blind rich eye that sucked the life out of the poor while th rich partied. The French revolted. Americans are bound by the rich, held hostage by the policies made by their "leaders" and I think most are just decent people trying to live a good life. I don't know the answer. It's the same callous disregard for life as payment for an elite, selfish lifestyle that shows up again and again throughout history. But, on the other hand, in some people's eyes, we are all of us also rich and selfish, so it depends on the point of view.

Thanks Marie Claire and Astraldreamer
For staying long enough to finish this! I didn't mention that I was on a military base here as a vendor when I wrote this poem and I took copies of the poem and a petition asking soldiers to sign it calling on our government to be accountable for it's actions. Well after the sixth soldier had signed my petition, I was told to do away with it. Not allowed to do that on a military establishment. So much for freedom of speech in America. Not only that, but a day or so later the concocted a lame excuse and kicked me off base. Gotta love it. Yeah, just like the poem said, our gas prices spiralled upwards, a couple days before Katrina ever hit the coast and even then the damage she did to refineries was minimal, but you know....any old excuse will do. Too many politicians are in bed with the oil companies. Since i wrote that poem, I have had to kick out another $700.00 US to the INS to keep my family here and they have been here for four years. It's not over yet either. But 12 million illegal mexicans are here stealing my jobs and getting free food, education and medical care, when I am not even allowed to take my children to County Health because I brought them over legally. Sucks. Thanks for your support here at Blogit!

A Long read Maybe

But there was no way I was going to stop.

We have the same terorists in Australia.

Our priminister we sometimes call Bonsai (meaning little Bush)

We have suffered growing petrol prices and when cyclones knocked out many of the banana plantations bananas became more expensive than chocolate. But the amazing thing is, the prices went up the very next day even though I know they have a store of bananas and sometimes they have to throw fruit on the ground becasue there is too much! How is the government helping the farmers? They aren't, and the supermarkets cash in.

You are absolutely right. We are being terrorised by our own governement, and the business man.

Do you know that I can't afford to buy my daughter a pair of sneakers (she now has only two pairs of shoes, one for school and one for going out). And the bill for our heating is going to be enormous. But I still have to pay twice what I did a year ago for petrol to get anywhere.

Well, That was a long winded reply, but I felt I needed to agree.

It's a long read and I am tired, but I respect your opinion. Don't have the answers I am afraid. Au revoir
