I don't know what you are going on about....
Every Christian person knows that Satan will tempt you. Look at Jesus in the desert for 40 days, weak from hunger, tempted by Satan to turn rocks Into bread. Man has strengths and weaknesses. Temptation tests your strength of conviction, your will, your faith and it comes upon each of us. I have never heard anyone blame a fall on temptation, only on a lapse in willpower. One is supposed to learn from these falls not to be led again by Temptation.

I agree.

People need to bear some responsibility for their actions.

Think of it this way ...

You might have been tempted. But, it would not have been a temptation to you if you had not desired it in the first place. Temptation does not excuse wrong desires.

In other words, if I love chocolate, and someone waves a 5-pound block of chocolate in front of my face ... I will be tempted. But, if I dislike chocolate, if chocolate disgusts me, then I will not be tempted to indulge in chocolate, no matter how much someone waves it in front of my face.

People say ... I was tempted and so that was why I cheated on my spouse. But, they would not have been tempted if they had not, in some portion of their heart, desired the affair.

In the same way, people could claim ... I was tempted and that is why I killed that person. I was tempted, so that is why I stole.

Temptation does not excuse bad inclinations in one's heart.

Nice Post
I do not view or think of temptation in that way, yet observe and hear it used in that manner frequently.  People need to simply take personal responsibility for actions and understand the root.  I think it is based on how one is raised to blame others and learn of temptation in that manner.  Many can make the conscious decision to change thinking.  Thought provoking post!!
