I'm not familiar with Franklin's work, although I've seen his book Poachers

at the library.  Is this the Thomas Franklin of which you speak?

But, yes, it is quite an imaginative reach for a defense lawyer, one which probably would play better in a novel than in a real courtroom.  Still, the south has given us many a good courtroom drama, To Kill A Mockingbird, A Time To Kill, Inherit The Wind, among others.  The southern orator with wisdom and wit as lawyer has become a southern stereotype.

saul_relative, If I didn't know any better, I would think that this was all the product of a vivid imagination such as the stories of ThomasFranklin.
