ahhhh so sad...
My doggie is living on borrowed time...she has a heart murmur as well as breast cancer...nothing they can do as she is very old....she has to take lots of medication which is basically keeping her a live....they tell me she has not got long, but they have been saying that for nearly a year now.....and so far she is proving them wrong, but as soon as I know she is in pain, then I will put her to sleep...

Awww poor baby!
It's so hard to watch someone you love fade away like that.
But, as you say, at least you get to say goodbye! When I lost my precious kitty as a teenager it was so sudden that I found it difficult to cope! Several years later, I found a picture of a cat that looked just like him and before I realized what was coming out of my mouth I said to my husband, "Maybe that's Edward. We should try to track them down and ask them where they found him." Then it hit me, like it was fresh, "Oh yeah, Edward is dead."
It was so hard! I wish you and your sweet kitty lots of great time and memories together!
