It's horrible to tell something like that to children.
Often times they will grow up believing that, or will need to get therapy to work through it.
Sorry you had to experience this kind of abuse

Sunnybeach... I thought the same thing as spit flew out of his mouth
onto our face. We (my cousin's and I) were always made to sit on the front row 'cause we were bad.

I don't believe in Satan, but that's neither here nor there.
I think that's totally wrong for someone who's supposed to be a teacher of faith to use their power to scare little children.
I have not heard anyone, Christian or other, ever say that Satan will get you just by thinking or talking about him.
See how they use that as control?
Being Christian is enough to make you fearful of Satan. One should not have to be as fearful as that

kiddo,
Anyone as cute as you can feel free to talk about
me whenever you wish to and use my name as you so desire.
I am glad I get you
to look at your beliefs and question them. I do not plan to get you to stop
believing as you do, but hopefully you will better understand your beliefs and
they will become more personal beliefs above some load of B.S. you were taught
and do not truly believe in and that you will become less likely to fall in to
the traps of religious propaganda and lies.
I do not try to disprove
people's belief. My biggest issue is when lies and such are being spread in the
claim they are beliefs and that I will always stand up and disprove.
I am
glad you read my stuff and that you seem to understand the basic intention
behind what I am doing there.

thank you xeno-o... You know, considering everything I have seen and have
heard, I think I'm pretty grounded too. Thank you!

Xeno-o.... and that's what I admire. Me personally, I'm not going to
test and try to find out...lol. Ignorance is bliss, and the
less I know the less scared I am. For one thing, if anyhing, (NO
offense to anyone, at all...) the belief in God is insurance.
Sure, he may not be there...but what if it's true.....

me?
i attempt to move toward what is more valid
i test beliefs
i test statements -- if one is highly disputable . . .
I attempt to demonstrate the validity of my beliefs
life is a process of discovering and actng on discoveries.
if something is invalid, then it should be shed like a snake sheds it skin.
and I am convinced that the embracing of invalidity hinders the possessor.
but then again -- we don't all see alike -- thus I do really accept another's beliefs.
but I cannot tolerate someone throwing out misinformation (not that I am not misinformed at times)

Kiddo...Satan is in my living room watching television...so have no fear.
He's not coming to get you. But on a serious note, you're not alone. Like you, my faith is spiritual based (read this in one of your other posts) and when I hear non-believers talk some of what hey say does make sense. Good post, darlin'. Besides having the same taste in music (Iron Maiden/NIN/etc.) we think alot alike. Kinda scary.
