If he isn't willing to help then I would recommend for the female area to pay someone to do it. That really requires a second person unless you are just doing a basic trim type of wax. As for everything else, you can do it yourself. Don't get the microwave kind. Get the Gigi brand at Sally's with the warmer and the strips...the microwave kind is HORRIBLE and PAINFUL!

You know I've been thinking about a DYI wax kit, if I'm woman enough!
I had a boss once who said, "the pain rivals childbirth". I wouldn' know, I've never had kids, but that put me off. As for MG helping me, maybe. We're sometimes kind of shy with each other about some things.

Seriously, have it done once and pay close attention to what they do, then get that lovely gentleman of yours to assist you and do it yourself! I do it all myself except the eyebrows. Those I want shaped just so and I won't mess with something quite that obvious.

The face alone: upper lip, lower lip, chin, eyebrows racks up some bills: can't I get a package deal? Then I get self-concsious about the tiny Vietnamese women talking amongst themselves in Vietnamese. (I do not have a big butt! Well, compared to them, I do!).
