I must admit, I am genuinely hoping it will not. I hate seeing people get married for all the wrong reasons and in this one I can't find one RIGHT reason.

I like the idea of the steel toed boot! Might have to apply that one myself. Soldier's wives are a very odd lot, we tend to do things in a very odd way. Carl came home December 8 and until two weeks ago when HE realized I still had two voicemails (from the only two calls I ever missed from him while he was gone) that I still hadn't erased. These is still an old t-shirt that he sent me after wearing it that I won't wash. Why? Because I am afraid in some way to do so, if I wash it then I fear I may need it again, if I don't, then all will be fine. I am not the only one, most of us do this. Does it make any reasonable sense? Nope and rationally I know better.
We don't curse ourselves and this woman violated every possible unspoken rule I can think of.

I've no right to be judgemental but saying that, things like that actually offend me.
It's slightly related to 'be careful what you wish for' but more of be careful what you say. I feel a deep empathy for anyone in the situation of have a loved one go into a dangerous situation, though luckily I have no personal experience of it.
I don't why but I'm unreasonably maddened by the lack of tact in this scenario. I'd probably give this girl a verbal bollocking were she in my vicinity. Failing that a well connected steel toed boot.

I suspect she is going to get it. There were 4 of us in our little group last year and 2 of us have decided we will not be going to this wedding for this very reason.

I corrected myself!!!!
The more I think about this the more sickened I get. I simply can't go to a wedding that is being performed before God and sit there as if I support it, knowing what she did. She did two things that are completely wrong in my book. 1. As a Catholic most look at their Priest as their mediator between them and God, she lied to them. 2. She used those soldiers to get her way! Nope, can't do it!
