You say the "universe in total is unexplainable, " and I agree. So is the Earth, but this is not to say that we can not discover a lot about it, both by experimentation and logic. See my article "Are You a Genius?" in my BLOG "Transformation."

Certainly a good logic to prove the existence of Almighty God .
The Holy Quran Says :
In the name of Allah , the Beneficent , the Merciful.
1. Say: He is Allah, the One!
2. Allah the eternally Besought of all !
3. He begetteth not nor was begotten.
4. And there is none comparable unto Him.

humans have an inkling of a very miniscule part of it.
we cannot define the entire universe by what we perceive of it.
