I try to stick to non-commercial TV and radio

most of the time. However when I'm writing,  I work for publications that sell lots of advertising ;-)

jazwolf...this is precisely why I don't watch much television either.

I rent and purchase alot of DVD's and am more likely to pop one in for entertainment than switch on the televsion.  Although, I do watch the morning news while getting ready for work.

i have digital tv which provides me with about 40 music channels, blues,

folk, rap, rock, gospel, kids, you name it, they've got it.  i run it through my stereo system and leave the tv itself off (although sometimes i keep it on so i can get the song titles that are posted as the music starts and stops).  it's perfect for the nights i have friends over to play cards, inevitably everybody hears a song they like and there is much singing along.

yesterday was favorite music day for me though so i was playing my records. you know, 12" vinyl.  the night ended appropriately enough with al green.  just give me L-O-V-E, love.
