Well said   Interesting angle.  I guess all the chatter proves that it doesn't matter whether you're a believer or a non-believer -- God ain't being forgotten.

Let's say there is a God, though.  Good question by you, which is, if he's that powerful, how come he doesn't fix this whacked species?  I get a feeling that life is like a curriculum, as in...lesson...test...pass/fail/repeat...or move to next lesson.  (Story of my life, anyway)   If that's true and we're here to learn, I guess you could say we were given the lesson plan 2,000 years ago.  I reckon the Prof would be staying "hands off" for the same reason students aren't given the answers till after the test.  Then we'll see a lot of forehead-slapping.  As a species, we may just flunk out.   Hey, I wonder what Allah thinks?  ;-)

Kiddo75, Did you ever wonder what Blogit would be like if religion and politics were made taboo subjects?   How many bloggers would lose immediate interest and move on to another site?   Even if there were not those categories for our blogs, the subject of religion or politics would creep in because humans have a natural bent to those subjects even if it is just to protest in some way like this post.

Thank you Sturgis... I like to think we all mean well when we are
trying to give our opinion about things... but some can really come across aggressive about it.  We are all right, huh?  lol

I'm a "bad" catholic, so I have no right to be in debates about god.  To be honest, I really don't care.  What I know and believe, is what matters, right?  I'm the one that is going to hell anyway, like anyone is going to volunteer to take my place....anyway, there are more important things to discuss...like which actor has the cutest ass!

Ariel70 - that was so dang nice....usually I could give a rats ass if
I offended someone.  But that's only those who I hold no respect for, or just flat out don't like.  But you I do respect  (and like...) because for the main reason you pointed out..  who cares if your opinion is different?  There is no point in disrespecting someone for a belief they hold because it differs from your own.  It is ridiculous, immature, and like you mentioned....an agenda might be behind it.

I don't see why anyone would want to even come off as looking like a close minded tit.  Respect others, listen, or don't listen... you don't have to agree.  It all boils down to respect.

Kiddo...like you, my way is spirituality. To each his own, as you stated.
But I refuse to participate in any category of organized religion.    Another thought, people spend so much more time debating is there a God or isn't there when we're simply not gonna know that answer til' we either fly up to Heaven 101 or land in the hubs of Hell.  I think alot more people could use their time more productivly.

No, no, and no! I find nothing that you wrote offensive. And even if I did, so what? Stick to your beliefs!

I am constantly saying in here that I respect Christians and their beliefs, even though I don't share them.

And I am invariably courteous in my comments, as are you. So anyone who finds what you write offensive has their own agenda to propagate.

Thank you for your post, and enjoy your faith.

And you are also sooo on the money about the political blogs....
but it's something to talk about and the whole point of Blogit is to get people to read you... so, you pull em in however....hehe

ariel70 - you are right as well...I do enjoy your posts, and I really do
enjoy to read other perspectives....hope you didn't take anything I said to be offensive...

I disagree with your statement that spirituality is God-given, for like everything about religious beliefs it is sheer assumption, for which there is not the slightest iota of proof. Spirituality may well be an innate element in human nature deriving from Evolution, and not some exterior force or being. Nobody can know.

When I write about religion I make it absolutely clear that I am not stating that this is how things are, or are not, but how I perceive them to be. They are just my opinions. And you, and other Christians, should do the same.

It seems clear to me that political blogs in here generate as much heat, hatred and venom as do the religious ones. Come to think of it, they generate about as much light as well : which is usually zilch
