Thanks and I admire people who love watching soccer.
I'm no Mia Hamm or anything but I can get my game on. Do you play any sports? Thanks for reading and yes my Aunt Terry wanted to call me Holly, kindof glad it is April. I don't have a clue why my mother called me April and I will never find out either.

8-ball, you should be called Noel instead of April. Haha!

BTW, you are a very active and sportive person. I think you are the sunny type of person.

I admire women who play soccer.

LOL
I can't believe your hubby wanted to name your daughter after his old fling. Mine tried that too but I made sure I knew all the names of his ex's so he couldn't pull that crap. Lucky for both of us we didn't let them, after all we did all the work and are still doing it. Those are some cool names I've heard worse. One lady calls her children Nova and Chevelle. After cars and I heard a boy named Viper. Can you believe that I like Nova but you go too far when you name her sister Chevelle.

Ha! This one made me laugh!

I wasn't in love with the guy, but I did, indeed, name my firstborn after a guy I dated. I just loved his name; Micah! Actually his was spelled Mica, so we changed it a little. Never told my husband because he'd still be all jealous about it. I don't feel so bad, though because he did want to name our daughter Jennifer after his first love. No offense to the Jennifers out there, but it's such a common name and I don't really like it. All of my kids have very unusual names, especially the youngest two. I have Micah, Dante, Seyonne, and Honor. Unusual, but not so far out that people look at you like you're crazy when you call them at the park!

Funny thing about the Mica I dated is that his last name was Mode. Mica Mode. I'm guessing his parents thought they were really funny.

Shelly, Kiddo very funny. Elvis is a cool name.
But this is coming from a loser who wanted to name her son after a hockey player. That's where I got the name Ty from.

LOL... yes. I have always had a soft spot for my high school crush's

name.  I wouldn't even say he was my first love... I didn't know "real" love until a few years later...

I'm not sure if I would actually use the name, but it's on the list... if ever the oppty arises... LOL

Your right it would get confusing and now I'm glad I didn't name my daughter after my grandmother. It felt better if I got to choose the name after all I did give birth to them you think you would get that right. LOL

I love the name Ty but my husband's cousin had her baby boy the week before I had mine and she took that name. I was mad so I named him my second choice.

I don't think "guilty" is the right word...

where else you gonna get names if not from folks you know and love?

It used to be traditional in some cultures to name your firstborn son after his grandfather on the father's side, and the first daughter after her grandmother on the monther's side. This makes things a bit confusing when you go back to the records and trace the genealogy.  For instance,  Mary's mother is Rebecca. Mary has a daughter, whom she names Rebecca. Baby Rebecca grows up and names her daughter Mary. Then we get Big Mary and Little Mary or Grandma Mary and Baby Mary... i'm so confused. :)

I got away with it because it was the same name of the favorite aunt...
on their side...

I named my son after Ty Cobb, that crazy baseball player...
problem is he kinda acts like him.  And my husband named my daughter after someone his first wife knew.  But my son's First name (the name we don't use) is (GOD WHY) Matthew, like dipshit.  I wish I could go back in time and name him Jett like I had planned.... Ty Jett, now that would be cool.  Oh well.

I am not at the Teen Stage yet but I've heard it is horrible. Good luck. That is great that they think of the marriage as "we". They feel included not rejected. That's great.

So it'S no rumor than
People other than me and a handful are doing it. Thanks for admitting it.

We had a hard time naming my daughter after I had her because we thought it was another boy. My husband wanted his old girlfriends name but I quickly picked one after he tried that. She does look like her name though.

LOL!

My kids already had names when they married me!  OK, technically, I married their daddy, but even now that they are in the horrifying teen years, they still refer to my marriage to their dad as the day "we" got married.

I couldn't have kids, but the names I had chosen had nothing to do with anyone I know, though Carly was the name I wanted for a girl and I did end up marrying a man named Carl.
