Bel, for the conflict to end must become for all of us a most
fervent prayer!

My Husband figures
things will be quiet for a few weeks then it will get very hostile as they start killing one another over who gets to take his place.
I pray this really means the beginning of the end of the conflict over there, but I just don't see it happening that way.

Songbirdshafer, it is a matter of time till we get Bin Laden
It would not surprise me in the least, that this death will cause him to make one major mistake that will bring an end to him, and at least I am praying to that end!

It will be interesting to see what happens next...
I doubt we'll ever get Bin Laden, though. I have heard reports that our government is secretly in cahoots with the guy. I think if we'd really wanted him, we'd have gotten him by now, like we did Saddam (Sadaam? How do you spell that bad boy's name?)

Yes this is great news, our troops did a fantastic job but we can't
get crazy. We have always seen there are a number of "#2" men ready to step up. As we have seen lately it has been more of a Shiite/Sunnis problem then anything else. But I think the President gave a great speech and didn't get trapped into any of the old "We got 'em" or "Mission Accomplished" cliche garbage.
