Rumored

I am quite sure Carl's angels are quite entertained!  I also suspect that they have a very good sense of humor.

Wouldn't it be nice to know who and what kind of angels we have?

Bel, I certainly believe we have angels watching over us and may...
have entertained angels without even knowing it..I also agree with you that God is not a "building" or a "religion"

I agree there are miraculous things every moment of everyday.  I know the fact that Carl is still here is nothing short of a miracle.  But the greater miracle was Carl was able to find some faith again.

Passion

I have my own time with God and I think he understands.  We all practice in our own ways and God and I have an understanding .

God made me who I am and as I  am for a reason, I have to trust that he knows better than I.  A building is not where I am able to experience my faith best.

When the time is right, God will show himself.  You could have never convinced me that Carl would ever go beyond the point of believing in the "possibility".  God, knows what we need and he gives it to us when we need it.

Bel,

Your post reminds me of why I've pretty much stopped trying to convince anybody that God exists.  I ddin't start believing in God, specifically Christ, because someone convinced me intellectually or by talking rationally.  In fact, I'd always dismissed Christianity as patriarchal, antiquated and obsolete, until I had a few experiences of my own.

Nohting like Carl's, though, that's for sure.  There's a quote that says, "There are no atheists in foxholes".  I hope my boyfriend doesn't have to have some similar experience to believe, but I pray he opens his eyes.   Carl doies seem to be surrounded by angels, thank God for that.

I think it's very important for this modern day society to actually SEE

God at work in their lives. Though Faith is extremely important, the Bible doesn't say we have to walk solely by faith and NEVER SEE the Hand of God working.

In fact, Jesus healed lepers, blind folks, people possessed with demons, etc. He did this to SHOW mankind what God was really like....that He was loving and kind and very concerned that each of us be healthy and have all our needs met.

God hates poverty. He hates disease. He doesn't send it in order to teach us something. It comes because we've made lousy decisions or bec we were careless and reckless. It comes bec of things passed down to us by our ancestors.

But it's never God's will for people to die early or live in poverty.

I hope you'll forget about whatever incident drove you away from church in the first place and try again. That sort of stuff happens to us all.

I know there aren't many good churches but there are a FEW, probably one close to where you live. Just keep visiting them until you find one right for you.

If God has a plan for you and Carl, then it's a GOOD plan, a plan to bless you and prosper you. A plan to utilize your unique gifts and talents to help others. Missing out on that would be terrible!

I think there are many miraculous things happening each day that people explain away as luck and coincidence. I, however, am a firm believer in the power of faith and prayer. Good, uplifting post.

Bel -
Animals are always drawn to me, especially dogs. Being tall, I just figure they mistake me for a tree and therefore want to pee on my leg.
