That is also true I am glad someone pointed that out. I will never leave this dog or any ones dog alone with my children. It does happen they can change their mood without even showing signs.

I'm afraid I have to disagree with Rumored Intel...

I interviewed a lady 2 years ago in Florida who was almost killed by a pitt bull. It had been raised by a loving family and never was trained to "Attack" anyone.

She was in her own home-the dog was on the couch with her grandsons. She started across the living room and the pitt bull lunged for her and tried to rip her throat out. Instead, he tore off her left breast.

Do please be careful. I have also been attacked and hospitalized from a pitt bull attack. Though I dont know about Rottweilers, I DO know that certain dog breeds can revert back to their feral state without warning...nice, friendly dogs who were raised by decent, well-meaning families will eat babies.

8-ball,
Pitbulls aren't evil themselves.  It is all in whether they are trained by mean owners to attack others.

Yes that is right I know a Pitbull who is nice also. It's not the breed it is just how they are raised, it must be hard to get house insurance also. Us too when we ever move out of our townhouse.

Your right I shouldn't care what people think but I always do. It's horrible to always be scared about what people think. I just hope I don't run into them again, well until Toby the Dog is bigger and they will have something to be afraid of.

Your right about Hydro One they do act a certain way also. Stereo typing it will never end I guess. But a puppy who can not love a puppy. I am a cat lover not a dog lover and I still can't pass up a puppy. I will enjoy my kids I can't live without them. When they grow up probably but right now they are all mine. HeHe. Have a good one and thanks for reading!!!!!!

Rumored
No they were not mennonites they have a club sort of thing for older ladies. They all wear red hats and purple dresses and shop in our town and have meetings once in a while. I thought it was just Pitbulls too. It better be but even banning a certain breed is wrong altogether.

ignore those evil looks
We own a Pit Bull and she is the sweetest dog you could imagine.  But we cant rent certain apartments unless we call her a Staffordshire Bull  Terrier.  They are the same kind of dog but don't have the cropped ears, ours doesn't have the cropped ears.  Its like anything the bad make it bad for the good.

8-ball,
I think you are just doing fine with your puppy, and you shouldn't mind what people think or say.

You're taking care of the most important thing
with Toby -- to socialize him. He's friendly with your kids and your stray kitties, and if you get him to a doggie day care or a dog park and help him learn proper puppy protocol (where to sniff, what to do with your tail, etc.) he'll grow up as a fine companion for your family.  It's true that Rotties are watchful and often used as guard dogs, and they've been made villains in movies, but their personalities are formed by their alpha person, the pack leader, the one they want to please -- you.  There's a show called "Dog Whisperer" on cable that teaches people how to live well with dogs...  As for the red hat ladies -- they're scared of all kinds of harmless things. Ignore them.

How could anyone not just love a puppy?

Some people with their mean dogs ruin it for everyone.

I thought the ban was just on Pit Bulls, too, 8-ball, and even....
that shouldn't be...any breed of dog will be as vicious or friendly as its owner brings it up to be....hmm, those ladies...mennonites??
