Me, it's all guilt. That's probably my biggest motivator.

I do know a family who will not shop at a particular mall, albeit a very
large one, because 6 years ago a shooting took place.  If I avoided every road where a shooting took place, I would not be able to pick my kids up or drop them off to school, sporting events, or even to go to the supermarket. We'd be very hungry, very lonely, and very likely very uneducated!

Afraid? Me? Never! Well, maybe of a loud noise.

A loud noise will make me jump every time. Just can't help it.

That is the truth. Fear is a terrorist one chooses to allow to live in one's own skin. You spoke of deacons. I, as a Christian, must reject fear because it is faith upside down. That is just my choice. Good post.

Rumored
You hit the nail on the head.  They talk, look, and sound (hypocrites) holy and actually need a wake up call.  These are they types who really annoy me. Thanks for commenting!

I agree.  I told all of them that I could not believe that as leaders in the church and knowing full well how often FEAR NOT is in the Bible, of all people they should not hold such fear.  Two are head members of the church that I attend at times!!!  Thanks for commenting!

That is very true or wait until the person has a chance to calm down.  Often, it is too late, however, there is a chance that things may not go too far down hill!  Thanks for commenting!

wow, this was certainly "out of control" fear...and from...
people who would probably tell you about their "faith"..notice I said "probably"... "faith without works is dead"...sounds like some people need a wake up call!

Anything out of control is bad.

I think it's just awful that people who are supposed to be
Christians would do such a thing...Fears like that are for those who don't have an awesome God to believe in. Shame on those ladies!

It's hard to get a grip of uncontrollable emotions or fears in the midst of
them...the key is catching them BEFORE they get blown out of proportion into behaviors that are irrational
