I hoped it would make a few folks chuckle. And I did think of cockroaches first, but then decided I wanted something that most everyone (including me) find soft and cuddly and innocent to make it a bit more funny.

I like to see it from the aspect that
God loved man enough to send His only Son to die for all people, showing He loves everyone, including those whom I may have difficulty with.
