I wish I could be so close to wildlife as you, Jazwolf, are.
But I have conflicting feelings about this. Being in the wild means being close to snakes which I fear very much.

Yep, that's what my daddy always said, and he was right except about
birds that mommas kick out of their nests, or ones with broken wings.

can't stress the importance enough about humans leaving wildlife
alone. animals have instinctual behavior that trumps most attempts at human intervention and the whole life and death struggle, if untouched by humans, is what keeps them alive and not overpopulated.
my dog obedience classes are 6 and 8 weeks long. in the first class i try to get people to see things from the dog's perspective. the first class always starts with the same words; " imagine, if you will, that there are no humans"....
