Medusa
Sounds like a really enjoyable Memorial day.  You seem so aware of all the little pleasures you've been granted and I like how you're not taking them for granted

LaylaB...I love potato salad, even the grocery kind if I'm desperate....
But homemade is so much tastier...I love salads of all kinds....This supermarket that is no longer around, used to sell the best calamari salad. It was cooked calamari drenched in this vinagrette, I'm spelling that wrong, with pimento. I wish I could duplicate it...Mmmmm good...

Medusa,

I'm happy to be alive too.  I hope we never forget all our veterans have done for us.  They deserve our deepest compassion, love, honour, and respect...

"Gideon" has a phrase that makes me laugh:
"If you wake a up a Republican in the middle of the night, he'll say, 'Clinton did it'"   (Okay that's enough,  I pormise I won't go all political on you in your comments section.  I don't want to start anything, it's just a peaceful day in the Blogit neighborhood).

Hey Blanche...That book sounds like fun....
If you like it, well, maybe I'll go out and get it....Ooops. I've gotta make a phone call I was supposed to make 40 minutes ago...Anyway...great seeing you here..

On a lighter note, Medusa, I just bought a book that may be a little dated
but still fun: Anka Radakovich's The Wild Girl's Club, based on some of her columns from Details magazine in the 90s.  I'm looking forward to it, to see how steamy it gets.

Yes, Blanche....Burly is a sweet man even if he hates all things Clinton..
LOL.....

posted by MedusaNextDoor on May 29, 2006 at 1:48 PM | link to this | reply

True, Medusa,
I like Burly and I can come to an understanding on politically heated issues.  I think we both have some basic, core values in common, we just approach them from a different angle.  We've managed to talk through some heavy stuff.  I like that.

I know Blanche....but since it's Memorial Day...well,
I will refrain from getting political. Although I do go at it gently with Burly....I think he understands I like to tease him now and then,

LOL, that would be funny! I'm not sure what it would do for your burn,
but you might invent a new body lotion for Body Shop: Potato Salad.  It seems that have all kinds of flavors now, bubble gum, etc.

Oh, Lord, Medusa, not another one.
I haven't seen the news today. I don't know what to say, but it just makes me sad and angry.

Blanche.....I used to have aloe vera...can't find it, but....
I could always put a little potato salad on it...ha ha....Just trying to be funny..

Yes, Blanche....I'm ready for that, too....
Very quiet here, too, at the moment. I'm just trying to play catch-up here on Blogit...Just saw that a CBS newswoman was killed by a bomb blast in Iraq. I don't recognize this reporter, but it just shows the fragility of life and the cruelties of war.

Oh, and I hope you have some aloe vera lotion for that burn!

Medusa,
I've just picked up some good books. It sounds like you're ready for reading and putting your feet up, too.  I didn't get out for potato salad and barbecue, but had some good salmon.  It's quiet in my neighborhood now, although I see a few people showing around out of town relatives.
