Well, The Israel...
...lobby is so strong that careers stand or fall depending on the attitude politicians take towards that land of apartheid and destruction.
Happily, there's a good few Israeli organisations who are standing up against policies such as the witholding of Palestinian cash, the seperation barrier, the requisition of land, the shooting of Palestinians, the taking of land gained in the 1967 war, and so on.
And good on 'em.

I mentioned Patrick Buchanan...
in my last post, as a rare example of a strident dissenting voice within the Republican party.
There are more than a few Republicans who disagree with their leadership's policy on Israel, but they're fairly quiet about it.
