Most criminals are so self-centered, that even the welfare of their own families does not matter. Glad you and your hubby are doing well.

Sounds like self preservation to me
Carl and I have both been holding back, probably because there is that part of us that knows they can call anyday, anytime, for any reason and our fragile sense of well being will once again be shattered.
It makes perfect sense that you hold out that long, you don't get to used to everyday so it doesn't tear you completely to pieces when it's ripped out from under you.

It is quite a transition.
I never ceased to be amazed at how difficult it can be to re-integrate into your old life. It's like, you hold off as long as you can because you worry that something will happen and you'll have to go out again and the struggle will have been for nothing.
For me, I never do fully allow myself to go back into my 'real life' till just before the beginning of the next hurricane season...it's diabolical, that's for sure....LOL-
Take lots of photos tomorrow so we can see what fun you guys enjoy!

I forgot to mention the water balloons too! LOL! Tommorow should be quite the scene! I figured you would understand the craziness that comes with returning to so called normal life.

Bel Red,
I love when I see the silly kid-like side of my own man. He's 44, but sometimes he acts 7, although he's the one who puts the brakes on my spending.

Hey, at least he asks. Mine doesn't. Glad to see he didn't lose his
"boy" while doingthe man things his country requested.

This is such a wonderful post....
I was tearful as I read it, knowing that Carl is indeed letting go of that 'old way' of life and embracing his 'real life' once again. Turning away from being a 'tough, hardened soldier' to become a child once again.
This is soooo heartwarming to know!!! Finally returning to his real life and family...an answer to prayers, for sure. Wish I were there to hug you guys...I understand that process and go thru it each year in December when I get home from hurricane season.
It's surprising the things that actually 'facilitate' your return to a 'normal life'. I've never thought of Silly String working though....LOL!!! Hugs and Kisses to you guys. Hope you have the best Memorial Day ever.
