Beats me - maybe it takes a little time for earnings to catch up and maybe people were
still reading even though I was away

Question for Beachbelle
How did your earnings go up at the same time your rankings went down? Don't we get paid according to the number of people who read our blogs?

I was away last month for 19 days during which time I posted only a handful of times
My rankings dropped but my earnings trebled. Not that I have got my hands on any of that yet! So it is still only virtual money

Bloggers earnings
Because even if a popular blogger is MIA, we can't live without them, and click on the old stuff that we have already read 100 times. Its not possible to go a day without reading Crabby, Chris, Scoop or Ariala's work. Even if it is older material we are drawn to them like flies on stink because they are that good!

I don't know about earnings...

... but there's something I don't understand about the rankings.

It's easy to understand that the more I post, the higher my ranking climbs.

HOWEVER, I've noticed that if I don't post for a day or so my ranking plummets, while at the same time the rankings for some other bloggers who have not posted in weeks stays the same -- and higher than mine! Some of these people are good writers, but still! How do they maintain their high rankings without posting, and why does my blog take such a dive?

speculations for chris...
How much a day: $1+

How much a day in a year: $2+

I think the growth rate of new blogs/bloggers is reasonably predictable and will probably continue for a few years--but its likely to top out at some point related to how much advertising the service buys.

Also, there's likely to be a topping out as the number of people who will participate in this format reaches a max--also influenced by the number of competitors that are formed.

I'm thinking of switching to redpaper.com.

ritchie

How much are you earning a day, and how much do you think you could/will be earning in a year's time?  I know the growth rate is still unpredictable at the moment but would you care to have a guess?
