That is fine. Reasonable people can disagree reasonably can't we? It is a great post. You know of course that nothing is new under the sun, Solomon said so.

Justi,
again, thanks for the compliment. Of course, you know and understand that we two part company when you start talking of 'revelation', but I wouldn't dream of erasing your comment because of that...

Wiley,

first of all thanks for the compliment. Next, to put your mind at ease, you did comment on something I wrote, but it was on a comment I made on one of Justi's posts recently, on her site.

Finally, to the matter at hand: I hope that the US, Britain, France and the rest of the international community will bring so much pressure to bear on Iran, preferably through the UN, that Israel will not have to act unilaterally. Unilateral Israeli action will be military action, since Israel will not and cannot tolerate he prospect of another Holocaust! They have done it before, in '81, when they took out the Iraqui nuclear facility.

Bush said today that the US will assist Israel if she is attacked. That's nice, except that an attack on Israel coming from Iran may well be a nuclear attack, in which case it will be too late to 'assist' Israel. Israel is too small to survive a nuclear strike!

That's the crux of my argument, so I hope the US will not stay out of this!

An excellent post. Well written and well thought out. There are some factors people reject that make this puzzle fit better. The media does not pay heed to Israel because all the world is practicing it's stance to leave Israel alone. There have been top Israeli and Christian leaders in conference for some time over this. They are right on top of the time line etc.. I don't expect anyone to give this credence, particularly the media. But it will play out exactly as it has been prophesied hundreds of years ago. I think this comment will put me on the list with those residing at the lunacy station but none have missed so far. It could all happen right in from of the world's eyes and they would choose not to see or believe. If one studies the establishment of the state since 1947 it has been one miracle after another. From making the desert bloom to winning a war that was totally impossible. But Israel will not be a shew in this time. They will lose big time for a time and in the end win beyond understanding. You are welcome to erase this, I just wanted you to know there is a wealth of information regarding this that people have been looking at for centuries.

Well now

Nautikos, I am sure I read and commented on a blog of yours at one time, but now cannot find the comment. Perhaps it was there but you may have removed same for lack of substance. Or I am just aging and never made a comment at all.

In any case I have read this post vis a vis Iran and it only provokes my mind to ask some questions.

Like, wouldn't it be nice if the U.S.A. didn't respond to Iran at all, learned to think "outside the box" for a change, and just waited Iran, and the rest of the world out on this one.

Wow, what a huge change that would make. Why, I can hear the whole damn world grinding to a halt, wondering whose soldiers will get killed if good old America was staying home and just protecting their own butt. Maybe everybody wouldn't be so gung-ho to kill, kill, kill if it was going to cost somebody else their citizenry.

I think Israel has become very adept at rattling the leash there for the U.S.A. to come running all the time, and frankly I think it would be a far superior solution to let Israel take care of  this Iranian problem.

I know, I know, you alluded to the fact hey might do just that, and you find that scary. I don't. Somehow I have the strange feeling that Israel won't just ramp up their nuclear capability just willy-nilly, they'll do something simple and constructive, like simply taking Iran down with conventional means, end of story.

Then of course, now that Russia is headed back down the road of the Soviet era they left, maybe they will feel good flexing their muscles at the Arab world again. After all, the Arabs did kick their butt, and smacking Iran will make them feel better about their loss of face over Afghanistan.

You write a good post, and damn well you should my Joycie would have said, because she too was a teacher that was smart like heck.
