good post
yes -- the traditional explanation of god by humans is found wanting.
god is not a person separate from the universe.
if you conceive of god as being The Whole -- I've explained it in GOD AS THE UNIVERSE AS AN ORGANISM -- then it becomes more understandable.

gepruit - correction of typo
I am getting bad about typos. You probably caught it, but anyway "religion without science is blind, science without religion is LAME". There, I got it right!

Einstein
I certainly do not equate myself with Einstein, but I do concurr with both of his opinions on science and religion. Thanks, Redwood, for your comments.

cause and effect
I believe that the cause must be greater than the effect. Therefore, the Creator is greater than His creation. Einstein believed this. That is one reason why he was able to step outside of the box of the known science of his time and come up with ideas which were almost totally unprecedented. Like the 1905 theory of relativity. Einstein was not into organized religion and had turned his back on it as a young man. He also said, "religion without science is blind. Science without religion is blind". An interesting person.
