preserving government of the people
It is all contingent on people having respect for their government AND keeping public officials accountable at the same time. Not just at election time, but on a day to day basis. There is and always has been avenues that Americans can pursue in order to participate in the things going on. Unfortunately, there are many who feel alienated. If too many people become complacent, we will lose our democracy and our Constitutional Republic.
