I was just about gone myself.
Have a good night

And speaking of physical exhaustion, Sunnybeach, I must bid you a fond
good night (er, morning), for I must work tomorrow.

A case of p.e. for the P.E. teacher! How apropos!

Maybe it was due to physical exhaustion?
lol

Oh, I didn't mind subbing Phys Ed classes. I just think it ironic that the
Phys Ed teachers seemed to get "sick" and call out more often than those trained in the more cerebral fields of study.

You didn't like subbing Phys. Ed?
Worse than the others?

posted by Afzal_Sunny7 on June 13, 2006 at 11:22 PM | link to this | reply

In three years of subbing, I subbed for only one history class. I subbed
for more Phys Ed classes than I care to even think about.

Yeah, it has to be hard to jump right in
in the middle of someone else's program, then you have to contend with teenagers, or kids that are the age teenagers act.

I wonder if that's what my father had studied? I know he wanted a job as a history teacher. The class of mine that he subbed was a science of some sort.

Exactly. Glorified interum babysitters without any real power. The
students know this and press their advantage.

I know
Nobody takes substitutes seriously. Least not in any of the classes I've been in.

posted by Afzal_Sunny7 on June 13, 2006 at 11:07 PM | link to this | reply

I've substituted quite a bit, myself. Hated it. Speaking of discipline,
there is little or none when it comes to classrooms under the guidance of a substitute.

It is SADD (and not that drunk driving thing, either). And I am
currently not teaching, getting my certification updated.  With my Secondary Education degree, I am able to teach Middle and High School levels in Social Sciences, although I dare say a school hard pressed for an English teacher would pass me by.

My dad was a teacher.
Well, substitute.
I actually was in his class a few times in highschool.
Kinda cool, but awkward all at the same time. lol

Ah....Whom and what are you teaching?

posted by Afzal_Sunny7 on June 13, 2006 at 10:58 PM | link to this | reply

I can read for quite a while, but it has to be interesting.
Writing...I think so much it takes me a LONG time to write a little.
I'm not into football much, unless the Steelers are at the Super Bowl.

Is that SADD?

By the way, I'm a teacher.

posted by saul_relative on June 13, 2006 at 10:50 PM | link to this | reply

The only thing I'm good at that requires a lot of attention, SunnyBeach, is
reading, writing, and watching football.  And crime dramas of all types (true crime as well).  Otherwise, I'm as ill disciplined as the next person with ADD.  I have SADD, Selective Attention Deficit Disorder.

posted by saul_relative on June 13, 2006 at 10:48 PM | link to this | reply

Disciplined...
Requiring a lot of attention. Some in subjects that would be of no interest to me.

Actually, I'm probably more disciplined now, but still.  My mind wanders too much for me to focus well when learning.

Disciplined? What the hell does that mean? I love to learn and so I do.
However, it makes me the penultimate underacheiver.  My parents are mad at me because I use my degrees for wallpaper.  (You know they're about half the size of posters -- really big!!)  I never have to paint one wall of my house.

So whatcha gonna do with all this education?
Wow! That's a LOT of learning. lol.
Congrats! I don't think I could be that disciplined.

Treated? Who got treated?
Just kidding.  But seriously, I pulled down three majors:  History, English and Secondary Education.  A few years ago, I got another degree in Computer Science and I'm only nine credit hours away from a degree in Political Science.  As for what I took: a full load every semester but one (I took only 15 hours that semester).

Cute

And ouch.
You're lucky it was something treatable.

Washington is pretty close. About a 45 min. drive from here.
What did you take in college?

I have a friend in PA. (I always thought those license slogans stood out)
Besides yourself, I have an old college roommate who is from Washington, PA.

Why waste time, girl? Men could study coriollus effects from the continual
changing of women's minds.

posted by saul_relative on May 18, 2006 at 9:59 AM | link to this | reply

saul, hahaha, you're funny...the main thing to keep in mind with women is
that we never stay the same...ask me tomorrow and I'll contradict that statement.

Well, Ariala, some tend to naturally gravitate toward what they're good at.
Me, I was good at math but didn't care for it.  Science, though, still intrigues me no end.  I am still studying women, also, and have found that they are a conundrum, a mystery wrapped in an enigma.  Not quite quantum, but damned close...

posted by saul_relative on May 18, 2006 at 9:16 AM | link to this | reply

I like quantum physics but I also like boys. hahahaha (I don't get it
physics though cause I'm bad in math...I get boys though!)
