Good For You
We have been house hunting also and it is very stressful because there is nothing I like but my husband likes everything. I hate it because I want to find the right house and he just wants to move out of here. We rent too and it sucks paying for something that isn't yours but if I'm going to be living in a house for the rest of my life I want to like it.

You're right that family can be too close. Growing up I had my grandma across the street and all my aunts and uncles almost within walking distance on my mom's side. It's taken me a while to realize that isn't normal.

Your husband's probably correct ...
in that oftentimes more of a "buffer zone" is needed than you might have previously realized.
I hear hurricanes ablowing.
