Informative post.  I especially like that you pointed out the correlation between language use and learning.  I don't think we put enough emphasis in learning the English language.

Be well,

Around here, higher value is place on gaining employment by parents
so many immigrants drop out of school and work.

I would say this is only
true among certain immigrant groups. Asians and Europeans have parents who constantly push them their kids to be the best.

A-and-B,
They sure do, that's the problem.  They don't study enough.

The kids need to study hard outside school hours.

good points
Immigration is a good thing if it can be used as a tool to promote a higher standard in education and other things.
On the other hand, if  immigrants create a common denominator of mediocrity, they are not doing themselve or anyone else a favor by being here

Lilane,
Sad as that situation is, you are so right.  To some, having too many children and living off the system is a normal, acceptable, way of life.  It is no wonder immigrant children are behind in school.

kids
In  certain races, some of the parents dont care and dont force kids to attend classes or even go at all. To a lot of them its more important to stay home and help raise the younger kids as mom is busy having another one.
