Taping the vents is cruel!

I would have felt sorry for the bird too.

I think it's the landlord's job to stop it before it gets to that point.

You may be able to call Animal Control or the like, and ask how this problem might be dealt with in a manner that is not cruel.

Blackcat
I'm not sure soon I hope so you can stain your deck. It would look like a tree to a bird, they get in the weirdest places.

she is but I think she already knows that or I would tell her. I think she gets off on killing innocent animals. Thanks for reading.

It is horrible I'm just glad I seen it. I thank my daughter who wanted to go on that bike ride or I would have never noticed. Thanks for reading.

I have the same type problem with my deck. It needs to be stained, but
birds have made a nest in the underneath part, and there are babies in there.  I can't let the guy stain my deck until they fly away.  Which also means I can't put my outside furniture out yet...  how long does it take for baby birds to fly?

Those babies will die and then the STUPID woman
Will have a horrible stench to deal with. Tell her she's a moron!!!!! She has to remove the nests and baby birds before taping up the vent again.

posted by Passionflower on May 10, 2006 at 7:56 PM | link to this | reply

That's awful--
I can't imagine the type of person who could tape up the vent with the helpless babies inside.

Sophistie
They would have built a nest in the trees if the neighbours stopped them from building their nest in the dryer vent in the first place. Their home all day, I'm only home half a day and I managed to stop them from building a nest in our dryer vent.

Hmmmm....
The animals need to find a place in the trees!  Prevention is best, yet humans first, then animals!!

It not really the point of me doing the right thing. It's the point that someone has become lazy enough to kill. If they would have fixed the problem from the start they wouldn't need to tape the vent shut and try to kill the babies. Animals were here first and now their forced to live in the little space they have left because we keep taking it away.

Songbird,
I was wondering what you would think, if it was the comment I was expecting they would have to put it under "Mature Audiences Only" section. LOL

Thanks I luv you for reading, my husband loves the Montreal Canadians too. Me I love the Toronto Maple Leafs, hey at least Montreal made it to the playoffs. Toronto would have won the cup if they made it, they wanted someone else to win.  Yes I'm in denial.

Yes, that is cruel. No question about it.
They should block it when the birds have flown off.

Your daughter sounds like she is doing well
