It Seems...
...to be a case of ignoring it and hoping it will go away.
Individuals in deep debt do much the same thing, and governments are just collections of individuals, so I guess it shouldn't be all that surprising.

We are fucked. The dollar is doomed and this could be
forseen by anybody with the brain of a pea. Even dubya should have seen this. How can he run up trillions of dollars of debt and have no idea such a thing would happen.
