Nostradamus "predicted" the past!
An interesting page you have here!... It's a fact that a lot of the quatrains attributed to Nostradamus were not written by him and it were not predictions either, but coded messages! Check it out at my True Treasure Hunts Blogit!

TTP,
You are right.  People have an incredible ability to see what they want to see.  It is exceeded only by their ability to pick random occurences and distort them into evidence that supports what they already believe.  The only thing that is really mysterious is the skill of the human mind at transforming the real into the imaginary.  Fortunately, I find it quite entertaining to watch.

Prediction or seeing what they want to see?
Nostradamus's texts were incredibly vague and have failed to really predict anything (in the sense of, we read this, believed it was going to happen, and then it happened). Events seem to happen first, and then people go back and loosely fit it in to an interpretation from one of his texts. I would worry as much about 6/6/6 as I would an alien invasion at 10pm tonight.

Mademoiselle,

I don't mean getting chummy with Russia in a negative way.  There is nothing wrong with it at all.  I'm glad it finally happened.  The only Russians I don't like is the Czarists who chased granpa out of the Ukraine for being a ''subversive activist.''

Actually, Nostradamus always seemed a little lame to me.  He was living proof of the fact that if you predict enough things, you're bound to get one or two right.  Rasputin was more interesting.  If nothing else, I like his name better.  I know someone made a movie about him, but other than that, I don't know a thing about him.

Actually, I don't know diddly about either one of those guys, but, as I said in my post, I don't let excessive accuracy stand in the way of a need to jump to a conclusion.  That's what everyone else does, so I rush to the sea with the lemming masses.

Taps,

It's good to hear that he has his mind on birthday presents.  All of the other things that people get wrapped up in should not burden a person of that age.  He will get more than his share of it as time goes by.

I should research the beast thing more.  I am not really clear about where all of that originates.  I know the Book of Revelations is involved, but I have never gone into it in much detail.  It is an interesting subject.

Thank you for the comment.  I'm surprised that the topic got much attention, but the interest is interesting.

Pat,

I think you are right on both counts.  As far as how long it has been dropping into the fan, I think that is not measurable, since it precedes historical records.  How many remember Attila and Ghengis?

I am not sure what CNN has to say on this, but if they are at all accurate, I'm sure they have said something to that effect.

No, it isn't Disneyland, is it?  The problem is that there are too many who currently seem to think that it is some facsimile thereof.

Thanks for the comment.  Comments here seem to be coming out much more interesting that I expected.  If I figure out why, I'll let you know.

What's so bad about getting chummy with Russia?

I saw something about Nostradamus on the History Channel ... he wasn't so hot.  I'll take Rasputin any day of the week.

Jack, one of my wonderful grandsons has a birthday on that day--666 (06/06/06).   He will turn seventeen.   Having been raised in a Christian-based home and going to church all of his life, he is aware of the teachings of the church on the book of The Revelation.   It is becoming quite a "conversation piece" for him but he is more interested in what he hopes to receive for a birthday present (hoping for a car of his own as teen boys are wont to do).

In case you haven't been watching CNN, the sh*t has already hit the fan... We're not exactly dealing with Disney World these days...
