Oil magnates, ex-corporate CEOs, board chairpersons of various
corporate entities. You are correct, SlyCy. Definitely a conflict of interests of the people of the United States.

Nixon signed a bill that extolled alternate energy sources
thirty years ago, but everybody ignored it. We have too many oil magnates in office these days. Talk about conflicts of interest.

Right you are, DarrkeThoughts, on all points, but I would add one --
the need to research, discovery, find, fund, and embrace alternative fuel and energy systems.

LOL...and when they start selling vasoline at $50 a jar...just imagine what kind of legislation we will need then.
Probably no one will get fined, but if they do, won't they just pass the cost down to the consumers? I still say carpool, slow down, get a more fuel efficient car, etc. We need to do those things anyway.
