I emailed the other guy about that comment he made regarding rounding up illegals and sending them to the ovens. I have never suggested harming anyone and never would. He referred to a horrible part of history when a madman ordered the murder of 6 million Jews and that is completely over the top to compare my comments to that.
Believe me, I'm not giving up on any of this but I have let go of the anger because it was creating some problems for me. This whole situation needs to be dealt with from a clear and concise perspective and not out of anger. What is happening in our country is just flat out wrong and the people who are supporting those who are here illegally are naive if they believe this isn't going to severely damage our country in a number of ways.
The problem is that many of them won't realize it until after it's begun to have the affects and by then it may be too late to deal with it easily. Some say that there are only 11 million illegals in this country but others are saying it's closer to three times that. I don't know how many are here but I do know that many have the idea that they are supposed to conquer this country and take it for Mexico. That's what the Mexican government is suggesting their citizens come here to do.
Gotta stop for tonight. I have to get to bed.

mystic, please, that comment was inappropriate.
I agree with whimsy that Mexicans seem not to have the same appreciation for our laws and ethics as we do, as evidenced by city after lawless city in Mexico run by drug lords and crooks. So they're importing what they know -- and it ain't pretty.
I live in what was once a very Dutch town with a strong Dutch history -- OK, still very Dutch although significantly watered down now. It's called Holland, Michigan. The city fathers to your face will say we don't have any gangs, and yet everyone knows that we have gangs. And they're all Hispanic. Not only that, but the hospital where I used to work -- Holland Hospital -- was designed to be able to go into complete lockdown if need be for the safety of its patients. A big iron curtain could be closed in the Emergency Dept with a push of the button. We actually had to use this one day when there was a fight between rival gang members. And yes, the resulting gun shot gang member patients were all -- you got it -- Hispanic.
It's extremely inappropriate to talk or joke about rounding up all the illegals, putting them into cattle cars and sending them off to the ovens. In fact, I am down right offended by that obscene comment. What is appropriate, though, is to enforce the laws of our country already on the books; to punish and heavily fine the companies that hire illegals; to fine and return to Mexico (and elsewhere) all illegals caught in this country; or at the very least to tax them and the massive amounts of earnings that are sent to Mexico each year.
Oh yeah, and to require that they learn English, and they learn to sing the national anthem in English.
Whimsy, don't give up please. I appreciate what you have to say! (OK, but you're allowed to change the subject and move on to something else if it helps your blood pressure and psyche a bit!)

Maybe we should round them up ...
put them on trains and send them to the ovens. Would that make you feel better????
