I think you nailed it. The image most have of God gets in the way of truly knowing "God". Personally, I think that's part of the reason for the whole "graven image" commandment, though I might have written it a bit differently.

this is fun!
This article escapes me, but what can you expect from a Republican SOB? Back to the Truman issue. I think that he was a good president, too. But just for the sake of discussion, if he was really so tough, why did he not allow Patton to go after Stalin's troops in 1945 instead of letting "good ol' Joe"incorporate eastern Europe?
