whimsy,

I don't want to go on at length here, but you are oversimplifying the issues and failing to provide statistics that support your opinions.

As far as strife along international boundaries, that is older than history.  The problem is not with the people who are involved in dealing with abject poverty at a family level, but with the government managing issues in a rational way.

Further compounding the issues is the inability of the public to think rationally.  When the public wants cheaper cars, televisions, computers, houses, etc., they force manufacturers to find cheaper labor.  Labor paid for at a wage that the general public finds unacceptable for its own work.

It boils down to one simple old saw: you can't have your cake and eat it too.

If they weren't finding jobs, they wouldn't come.  I think your reverse boycott has some merit, if businesses found that they lost more than they saved by paying sub-standard wages, maybe they would think twice about the cost of labor?

I disagree with your views on immigration, but I do think you are targeting the heart of the problem and such actions are likely to have a more significant impact on how many people are here, or want to come here than any walls or other "increased security".
