Another story with a twist, Thomas.
I like it.  He determined his own end, probably.  We had a meanie like that too, when we were first married.  He would hide in the rafters in the basement and swipe at my husband's head when he walked past.  "Snuffy" didn't last long at our house; he, too, went to a farm home, but we never got any reports back on him.  Remembering the place from which we acquired him, I realize he probably wasn't socialized at all.  Too bad for all of us.

We also had his beautiful black long haired cat. I got it for free and couldn't believe that someone gave it away. Then I got it home. Was the meanest cat I'd ever known!! It would attack you when you walked by. It bit if you tried to touch it. For our safety, I locked him in a room. Isolation didn't help. He even got whacked. So, I gave him away to a gal on a farm. He ran away after a few months or something meaner ate him -like a coyote.

Thank you, both.

Thomas, yes, they are smart, especially for their own needs.  Indigo reaches for the door handles.  He knows this is how the door opens, but he can't quite reach it.  I'm glad you helped the kitty, you old softie.

TP, sounds like a wonderful kitty.  One of mine seems to know when I'm not feeling well and am cold; he will lie against my back in just the right spot.  When our dog was going downhill from congestive heart failure, our two cats would snuggle up against him or lie on his back and keep him warm.

Cats have a sixth sense about those things. When I was sick or hurt, and still living at home, my cat would seldom leave my side, and she's done the same thing with my parents.

Cats are smart. There intelligence sometimes amazes me. I seen one cat trying to open an outdoor water spiket once. Yes, I helped him. He was thirsty. And thats called communication.

What a sweet story!
My Baby-Grrl loves to sleep on me.  And Squeaky sleeps right above my head.  Lots-o-warmth!

That's really cute ...

My cat often sleeps in my bed, too.  And, generally speaking, he's a very welcome companion.

"But I like to be here.
Oh, I like it a lot!"

To the fish in the pot.
