How old are the Houston Texans?  How much help did the NFL give this team when they came into existence?  The Texans and the Browns did not get nearly the help that the Jacksonville Jaguars and Carolina Panthers got when they came into the league.  With that said, the Texans were a respectable 7-9 two years ago.  With the talent that they have and his lack of experience, how many QB's do you think could do better than David Carr.  Besides, why would you want a rookie to quarterback this outfit?  You would be starting from scratch again.  In today's NFL, it doesn't take long for things to turn around.   Carr has been sacked more than any other QB the last three years.  Give him a Reggie Bush to drop the ball off to and see those totals go down.  Besides, no one is going to do a Mike Ditka and trade Houston a bunch of picks.  When you have the number one pick in the draft, you take the player that has the most immediate impact because you get to chose from THE ENTIRE DRAFT POOL!  Unless he's a QB which the Texans already have.

I would say it depends on how good Carr is.

Bush will be a faster, more athletic Brian Westbrook ...

i.e. fragile and best used sparingly.

The Texans should do everything in their power to trade the pick ... they're about eight legit starters (including four offensive linemen) removed from being mediocre.

Oh, and you act like David Carr has actually done something to prove he's a quality NFL quarterback.

"Andy Reid for Governor."
