I agree....we all need to ask those questions...

...trouble is, people's lives are so full of needless crap that they simply never take the time to sit quietly and let life happen all around them, where they can then absorb the nuance and the pulse of nature and themselves....no one listens to themselves or to their world...so sad...a generation from now, kids who've been marketed to, controlled and manipulated and ignored, will not have the tools they'll need to be successful adults...electronic games and text messaging and parents and schools have controlled the need for them to think on their feet ...kids donl;t even know who to go outside and cobble together a game of pick up ball or soccer or whatever...and all of it will have been caused by our inability to quiet ourselves....I was asked to edit a piece on children's literacy by our dept of learning...once I'd gotten through all the crap, the dull and tedious ideas about learning as put forth by academic dullards; boys and girls learn differently (huge subject which is very well documented)

Boys like to be hands on, interactive, etc, girls, conversely, are able to sit quietly and absorb and learn...so why can't Billy read as well as Sally? Because Billy has not learned how to quiet himself...long story, but I asked if I could introduce some ideas on  how to execute a mandatory course on quieting in high schools in our province, that would become part of the reading programs and then, once quieting and reading is done, instead of individual book reviews, etc, the class would review in an interactive setting and take notes on all of the verbal reviews offered by all classmates....so, in effect, the reading program becomes fun, interactive and the biggest benefit to the students might be that they come away from high school reading classes with tools that they can use to quiet themselves, discover their intuitive abilities, and get to know themselves and how they operate under any given situation....I've paraphrased here because I had no intention to get so long winded....just kinda passionate about the whole idea of people not knowing themselves because they are too busy buying and wanting and pinging and wasting to know themselves.....the quieting course I recommended was developed by Ira Progoff...and it will be tested in three schools in the fall....
