Happy Earth Day

Nothing like a near-death experience to make you grateful for each and every day, is there?  Although some of us are unafraid of the next phase of our existance and will embrace it when it comes, this phase, here on our beautiful earth, is pretty grand too.  When you get a taste of your own mortality, it makes that same mortality all the more special.

My dad was an evangelist, and asked people how they could not believe in God when He'd put so much effort into the Rocky Mountains.  I live in Denver, Colorado, and when I miss my dad, who died a few years ago,  I just drive up into the mountains and am filled with wonderful memories, and I feel that I'm sharing with Daddy everything I look at.

It's great to be here with so much beauty, and so many people to care about.  I just wish that everyone was fortunate enough to lead an existance that afforded time and opportunity to enjoy the landscape - the geographical and personal/spiritual.  We're very lucky.
