Yeah, Burly, I agree. It's beyond stupidity.
I would simply laugh if someone like that came to my door, and then say "what, do I look that stupid? What a pervert!" And then slam the door with a vengeance.

The more I hear about what some people fall for, the more amazed I become! Its called gullibility, isn't it? An intinerant doctor, going door to door, offering a free internal examination? Unbelievable!
