Hi brettnik
I am enjoying your short stories  Strange that teachers do not seem to get the same respect everywhere!?

Thanks for the tip.  I am really interested in finishing the WTC story but will also be sure to keep up my stories for my mom as well.  Thanks for your encouragement, as always.

Brettnik--- Uncle Dave is right on about this. Great job of demonstrating
how writing well creates something worth reading. Also, you are gifted in creating compelling drama from little incidents in life that most all of us can relate to.

Uncle Dave
Thank you for your kind words and your flexibility.  Thanks also for the tips.  I'm not a published author, unless you count independent local newpapers and magazines to which I once contributed unpaid.  This is the first time I've seriously thought about really publishing, and I appreciate all the help I can get.

Brettnik, it's a good one and now linked as your showcase piece.
I enjoyed the actual story, but what I liked about it most was the control of viewpoint. It's third person narrative, but you focus very acutely on the one point of view, one set of thoughts, one way of looking at the world and the tale. It's an important skill for us all to bear in mind when controlling a narrative. And many modern novels have this third-person-but-feels-like-first-person slant, so it's good to remember for saleability in the harsh world of publishing.

Brettnik,
This was fascinating to the end, it kept drawing me in. I've developed a short attention span, blog-hopping, but this was too good to skim over.

La Maestra.

Dear brettnik , Teachers are one of the most noble profession. It always has a high level of respect. My father is a professor of a university for more than 35 years. I used the pen name Prof. in respect for my late father. For me, I was assured of a teaching profession  if I will take my MBA, but I lost track of time and did not pursue it. Anyway, I don't want to be a teacher because you have to take home a lot of work. LOL.

I am still around brettnik, only I am very busy trying to finish a few stories for possible publication that is why I am staying low, but i will reply to all comments in my blogs.

I hope in 3 or 4 weeks I will be back for more. regards.. Prof

Thank you for the tremendous compliment.  I agree about Spanish.  Sad, then, that I still speak only in the present.

You are a master at short stories!
By the way,  I think Spanish is not difficult to learn.

I don't live there anymore, but as a teacher in a similar neighborhood, my status as an educator definitely gave me protection at different times, and it was necessary.

Brettnik -
Excellent! Is the protection ever needed?

What a great read.   Written perfectly to hold the attention all of the way from beginning to end.   You should put it in Uncle_Dave's Showcase to encourage readers who might miss it.
