I am not as much exposed to the full force of nature as you are.
The clustered skyscrapers in my city have formed one extensive screen against typhoons and rainstorms.
I couldn't imagine what would happen if there were an earthquake here. With so many high-rises here, chances of surviving a tremor would be miniscule.

the patter of rain on a cabin roof and tree's leaves when you're
camping, offset by the crackle of the fireplace. where're my jammies?

Jazzy - I too have spent way too much time thinking about the labels...
... placed on weather. I've wondered what label would be given to about 2 years of non-stop sunshine world-wide: nice? (It might get a bit thirsty and hugnry out.) - I too love nature when she turns sassy. Having been raised in Northern California I enjoyed the earthquakes, the floods, lightening storms, and (my fav) the warm pre-airn wind storms in the fall. I'd climb one of our giant oak trees, hang on, and grin into the wind.

Brettnik--- No, I still don't like the word "bad" to describe weather. But
it definitely seems to be turning more violent.
