corbin, of the children who open enroll from this neighborhood out to the
sububurban schools, most are successful and happy, graduating and going on to college at a much higher rate than around here.  I totally agree with you view.  Vouchers are a winner philosophically, and a dog politically, which is what you said.

Simple solution....
give everone a voucher and let the monies spent on that child be paid to the school the child chooses to attend......bad schools will have to crap or get off the pot, so to speak.  Of course the teachers unions will fight this tooth and nail.......for them it's not about the children.....it's about the power.

Continuing Education
Enjoyed your blog content. I'm glad your children are receiving a good education. Now, will they be able to continue to get a quality education in spite of the almost total abolishment of the Student Loan and Assistance Programs by this Republican Congress? The dumbing-down of America's children is picking up steam and this administration believes "no child should be left behind".

I'm glad to read that schools make exceptions for bright students.
