Warrior, you don't realize how many couples....
are not a partnership. They get stuck in these preconcieved roles and it is damaging to the relationship. As aware as I thought myself, it was a bit frightening to realize that Tom and I were having this issue. We are talking through it and I am sure we will be ok. I am so glad you are modeling a healthy relationship for your son. I wish more couples did.

My wife and I are very much a team.
It's more about respect than protect. Hopefully my son learns the lesson.

Dear Captain, you are not alone...
in how you feel. Although I know the nerve is raw, please know that women do have sympathy for the way the roles set men up in our society.

Mike's godess: My greatest pain
It's interesting you posted this, because you hit on a nerve.
I too grew up with distinct roles that men and women naturally filled. Together, they made society complete. Mother's nurtured and loved their children. Father's provided and protected.
That was my job. That was what I was expected to do.
It is still an open wound when life strips you of your ability to provide or protect those you love the most. Whether it is right or wrong, it leaves men feeling worthless and ashamed.
...powerful post...
